Poached Pear Frangipane Tart

It feels like I have grown leaps and bounds in the past one year. Not just because I have become a mother..That is the biggest part of it but also how much I have learnt and discovered about food. This tart is the best example of how far I have come in my food journey since I started this blog. Here is my old post of a Pear Frangipane Tart and the difference between the two couldn’t be any further apart. The most stark is the photography. There is no major change in the equipment I am using now but the change is in the time I now invest in learning about photography.Cant say I am a Pro at it but I have …

Coconut Cake with Banana Curd

Coconut Jaggery Cake with Banana Curd

I have been getting a lot of pats on my back along with some oh my god she is so jobless to and astonished and awestruck comments from people on the monthly cakes I have been making for baby Vansh’s milestones. A fair disclaimer here-These cakes are more for me than him cause he can’t really eat them.(Hence the extra 10 pounds that I have gained over and above my pregnancy weight! )He is more of a smoke screen here..giving me a reason to bake so many cakes cause otherwise it’s just me and my husband and our birthdays come only once a year.:D So coming to what I made this month for Vansh’s 7 month milestone.Firstly,I can’t believe he …

Healthy Zucchini Bread

Healthy Zucchini Quick Bread

Some days the baby doesn’t sleep at all and my chipotle Tacos go unphotographed cause he is so cranky and some days he sleeps for 3 hours and I am scared to start making anything cause you don’t know when he will wake up! Eternal Cycle of motherhood! One thing I should say is that having a baby is a great motivator. While I was pregnant I hardly cooked anything worthy but now I have so many ideas floating in my brain and only a few hours a day to execute them. It’s funny cause I had all the time on my hands before he came along and now I have to squeeze in 20 minutes of work in between his naps. This means I …

Dark Chocolate Brownies

Dark Chocolate Brownie

These are addictive and so make with caution! These brownies sort of just happened. I wanted to bake and I was out of baking soda that’s when I started searching for recipes which were heavy on chocolate and light on baking soda. As always Jamie Oliver had the answer to this conundrum.(Side note:I love him!I love him! I love him!..He is so inspiring!!! I hope to meet him one day!).Jamie Oliver calls them Bloomin Brilliant Brownies. For this recipe I suggest you use good quality chocolate and not the compound chocolate(usually used for baking) cause the taste difference is phenomenal!I swear by Amul’s Dark Chocolate line.I have made these brownies using  the 70 percent Bitter Chocolate bar and the Mystic …

Chocolate Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

Chocolate Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

If you have been following my blog you would know I have been making a cake for every monthly milestone of our baby V.I want to do a different cake every month not only to celebrate the milestone but also to grow as a baker. We all had a number of requirements this time.I was pretty clear about the look of the cake. I wanted it to be a white cake with multicolor sprinklers. My brother and sister in law wanted  a chocolate cake and not some weird experimental nonsense(in their words). I didn’t want it to be too heavy cause I was going to frost the cake but I didn’t want it to be too light too. I looked around a lot …

Healthy Banana Bread

Healthy Banana Bread without Butter or Oil

Here is presenting to you my most priced recipe of Healthy Banana Bread without Butter or Oil. I can’t believe this recipe! There is no sugar, no oil/butter and no refined flour but it is crazy delish!!!!I used normal Roti aata- multigrain flour but any whole wheat flour will work in this cake. You want to ask me the downside here right? There ain’t none! The cake is moist, light, magical and you can’t help but gobble it up!You can eat this healthy banana bread for breakfast or as a tea time snack. It’s a great snack for kids too because it has bananas and curd and everything nice!(okay I tried my hand at rhyming but I am clearly very poor at it!). The ingredients are …

Eggless Mango Cake

Eggless Mango Cake

I promise to start writing healthier blogs. For now bear with me as I have just regained my cooking mojo and I am eager to use it in the most decadent and delicious ways for sometime. After the longest time I am cooking so much which is funny cause I was literally jobless for 9 months with nothing to do than wait for baby V to arrive but I barely cooked then. This is the cake I made for baby V’s second monthly birthday though at that time I was more interested in taking the baby’s picture than of the cake. I have used bluebird instant whipping cream for this cake but i think this cake tastes the best with just fresh mango …

Peanut Butter & Chocolate Cake

Peanut Butter and Chocolate Cake

Introducing our son “Vansh” to all you guys! This burst of cuteness graced us on 12 Feb 2017.I want to say it was the happiest day of my life but that’s not accurate.Everyday my happiness grows with Vansh. As much as my pregnancy was difficult (or annoying) because of my gestational diabetes, with having to take 4 injections everyday and extreme diet control ,his arrival was extremely fuss free .I want to say I actually had fun in the operation theatre but I will sound like a psychopath so instead I will say it was pretty chilled out (pun intended).I am sure it wasn’t me but the muscle relaxants they gave me but it was a wonderful experience! I went to …
